Meet Cherie & Rick Smith – The Heartfelt Duo Behind “Touching Hearts and Making Smiles”

Cherie and Rick Smith are the creative minds behind an extraordinary collection of children’s books, completing an incredible 52 titles in less than two years. Together, they’ve crafted stories that inspire love, kindness, friendship, courage, and determination — all designed to bring joy to children and families everywhere.

Their growing series, Touching Hearts and Making Smiles, currently features six beloved titles already in the hands of young readers, with many more to come. At the core of every book is their shared mission: to spark imagination and put smiles on children’s faces.

Based in Virginia, Cherie and Rick balance their writing journey with a busy family life. Cherie works at a community college, and they both cherish time spent with their six grandchildren. Sundays are for football and brainstorming new ideas for their next heartwarming story.
